Location
History
Dunn-Benson Dragstrip was first opened in 1957 and since then it has attracted both kids and adults alike. Starting with just a vision Dallas Parker, original founder of Dunn-Benson, set out to bring people in Central North Carolina
a new type of entertainment.
Now, 53 years later, The New Dunn-Benson Dragstrip is continuing to grow. Located just 4 miles from I-95 at exit 79 Dunn-Benson is 91 acres of racing action.
Today Dunn-Benson is undergoing its largest renovation yet. Owner Roger Williams has set forth on his dream to turn the current 1/8 mile track into a 1/4 mile track. Starting in late 2009 Mr. Williams began the groundwork by prepping the new 4,360 ft dragstrip. Along with extending the existing 1/8 mile track Mr. Williams also plans to widen both sides of the track 6 ft while adding new concrete barriers. These are among a few of the major changes we can expect from Dunn-Benson in the future.
